National Lottery Community Fund to Support Tenants
Need help getting online? We have the answer.
For some of our tenants, the Covid-19 lockdown has led to isolation and loneliness, as well as problems carrying out important tasks such as bank transactions, due to a lack of online access and experience.
We wanted to help, so two members of our Family Housing Community Engagement Officers, Carol and Emma, applied for National Lottery Funding to help set up a new scheme to get our tenants online.
The result is the Get Online with Family scheme, which will provide our tenants with equipment they need to get online. This equipment will be loaned on rotation. The scheme will also offer training in how to carry out important online tasks such as sending emails, making video calls and using the internet.
Carol said: “We are really happy our Get Online with Family application was accepted by National Lottery Awards for All. The funding will help to overcome some of the isolation felt by tenants. It will also improve health and wellbeing, boost online skills and help with community cohesion.”
Emma added: “This scheme is an important way helping our community during this challenging time and thanks to this grant fund, our team can help tenants use tools to help with financial inclusion and develop confidence using online services.”
