Repairs responsibilities

We have 4 response categories

We will attempt to complete repairs within the target timescale but occasionally we may need to order parts, or call on specialist help, which can delay a repair. We will keep you informed if this occurs.

Your tenancy agreement explains what you are responsible for repairing and maintaining in your home. Take a look at our ‘repair responsibilities’ guide before you contact us. This explains what jobs Family Housing will do and what jobs you must do.

Examples of repairs you are responsible for include:

  • Replacement of door keys (both interior and exterior doors)
  • TV or radio aerials installed by you
  • Light Bulbs
  • Toilet seats
  • Treatment of rats, wasps, ants or fleas
