Caredig Renews Its Commitment to Anti-Racism Through the Deeds Not Words Pledge
We’re proud to announce that Caredig has renewed its pledge to the Deeds Not Words initiative, led by Tai Pawb — reaffirming our commitment to meaningful, long-term action against racism and inequality.
As one of the initial signatories to the pledge, this renewal marks an important step in our wider Anti-Racism Action Plan, building on the work we’ve already started to address housing inequalities and promote equity across our organisation.
Evelyn James from Tai Pawb shared:
“We look forward to supporting and working with Caredig to deliver on our commitment to the pledge.”
Our renewed actions include:
•	Increasing racial diversity across staff, board, senior leadership, and management
•	Publishing and reporting on delivery plans
•	Providing ongoing anti-racism training for leaders and boards
•	Improving policies and processes for reporting racism and hate crime
•	Reviewing standards and guidance to prevent racial discrimination
•	Enhancing communication and engagement with ethnic minority communities
•	Ensuring information, advice, and advocacy meet the needs of ethnic minority people
•	Continuing to implement the revised regulatory standard on tackling racism and discrimination
•	Equipping tenants with clear information on how to report hate crime incidents
Together, we’re committed to real change — not just in policy, but in practice. Through the Deeds Not Words pledge, we aim to make a tangible impact in the lives of our tenants, staff, and communities.
