Stephen Evans Appointed Chief Executive of Caredig
Caredig is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Evans as its new Chief Executive.
Steve takes up the role following a successful appointment process, bringing experienced leadership, continuity and a strong commitment to Caredig’s purpose, values and the communities it serves.
Currently serving as Interim Chief Executive and Director of Property & Assets, Steve has played a key role in leading Caredig’s services since joining the organisation in 2020. His extensive experience across the housing sector, combined with his deep understanding of Caredig, places him in a strong position to lead the organisation into its next chapter.
The appointment provides continuity as Caredig continues to build on its strong community roots, distinctive identity and values-led culture. The organisation remains focused on delivering safe, quality homes, reliable services and great places to live and work.
Steve said: “I am incredibly proud to become Chief Executive of Caredig. We have a strong identity, deep roots in our communities and values that shape how we work every day. I am looking forward to working with colleagues, Board members and partners to build on those strengths, deliver for tenants and lead Caredig into its next chapter.”
Chair of Caredig’s Board, Kirsten Achtelstetter, welcomed the appointment.
She said: “We are delighted to appoint Steve as Chief Executive. He understands Caredig, our tenants, our communities and the wider housing sector. His experience, leadership and commitment to our values make him the right person to build on our strengths and bring The Caredig Way to life.”
Steve’s appointment gives Caredig a strong platform for the future: confident in its identity, grounded in shared values and focused on what matters most to tenants, communities and colleagues.
As Caredig continues to invest in homes, services and communities, Steve’s leadership will help ensure the organisation remains true to its purpose while embracing new opportunities to make a positive difference across south west Wales.
