Affordable Homes

At Caredig, we provide affordable homes for people in the local community. These homes are offered at rents that are lower than typical private rents, helping to make housing more accessible, while still meeting the criteria set out in the Affordable Housing definition.

Affordable Homes, which are rented at lower-than-market rates, are ideal if you don’t qualify for social housing but still find private renting a stretch.

Interested in an Affordable Home?

To make sure our homes stay affordable for the people who live in them, we do ask that applicants meet a minimum household income. This helps ensure the rent is manageable and sustainable for you.

The exact income needed will depend on things like the size of the home and where it’s located.

If you think an Affordable Home might be right for you, we’d love to hear from you.

Although we don’t have any homes available right now, you’re very welcome to join our waiting list. By registering your interest, we can keep your details on file and let you know if something suitable comes up in the future.

When you get in touch, our team will:

  • Let you know if there are any homes available in your area
  • Talk to you about the income requirements
  • Explain what information or documents you might need
  • Guide you through the next steps

Homes In The Gower

Caredig homes located in the Gower are subject to enhanced criteria. People living, working or from the community will be given priority. Please note there are no current properties, but you can join the waiting list.

Finding a Home with Us

We want everything about finding a home with us to feel clear, fair, and easy to understand.

At the moment, due to high demand for housing across the region, we’re unable to accept general applications or expressions of interest for our social housing. These homes are allocated by your local council’s Housing Options team, who you’ll need to contact directly.

Other Housing Providers

If you can’t find what you’re looking for on our website, maybe another housing association or Local Authority Housing options can help. Housing Associations have different ways of deciding who qualifies for their homes and who can get on to their waiting list, so you should contact each Housing Association directly for more information
