Caredig Partners with Cardo to Deliver £2m Annual Maintenance Programme
We’re pleased to announce that Cardo (Wales and West) has been appointed as our new planned maintenance partner, supporting over 2,800 homes across Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, and Neath Port Talbot.
This £2 million-per-year contract will run for an initial two years, with the option to extend for a further two. It covers a wide range of essential services including:
• Scheduled upgrades
• Major works in empty homes
• Routine repairs
• Out-of-hours emergency support
Supporting our communities
At Caredig, we believe in creating more than just homes—we’re committed to building strong, vibrant communities. That’s why this partnership includes a Community Benefits programme designed to deliver real social value for our residents.
Year One highlights include:
• Five full-time roles for local residents through recruitment partnerships
• 40 hours of school engagement including career talks, literacy sessions, and safety workshops
• 100 apprentice weeks for residents, delivered in collaboration with colleges and learning teams
• 16 hours of pre-employment support including CV writing and mock interviews
• Practical work experience placements for up to three residents
• 75%+ local spend by prioritising Welsh SMEs in the Cardo supply chain
• £5,000 funding and 40 volunteer hours to support older, disabled, and vulnerable residents
• Environmental initiatives such as school gardens and wildlife projects
