New Benches Donated and Installed by ASW Property Services
We would like to say a very big thank you to ASW Property Services Ltd who have donated these fantastic picnic benches to our park in Ffynnon Las, Ammanford!
The benches were handmade by Justin Crowe, a talented carpenter at ASW, and were installed yesterday, free of charge, by their fantastic workers Craig and Dale.
We are grateful to everyone at ASW for helping us upgrade the facilities for our tenants, and would like to extend an additional thank you to Darren Westermark (ASW Contracts Manager) and Paul Phillips (ASW Operational Director) for making this happen.
Darren Westermark: “It feels great to be giving back to the community. It’s sad to think back to the recent riots at Mayhill, but it was also amazing to see everyone pitching in to help each other out afterwards. We wanted to bring a little bit of that to the park here at Fynnon Las. If we can do our bit to keep things looking smart then we will because our communities deserve a nice place to go and sit, especially now that summer is coming.”
“We also realise how important it is to get children out of the house, especially after COVID-19, and now they have a place to come and sit with their families to have a bit of lunch. Picnic benches seem simple, but they make such a big difference long-term.”
These benches take us one step further in our efforts to transform this park into a fun and safe place for people in the local community.
Well done to our Community Engagement Officer, Emma Williams, and other staff involved, whose collective vision and organisation skills have made the world of difference to what Family Housing is achieving. And finally, thank you to Simon Evans and Kevin Peters, our current and former In-House Operations Managers, whose direction and coordination made the transformation of this park possible.
