Family Housing Staff Member Becomes Finalist for Wales HR Awards

We are so proud to share that Vicky Nicholas, Family Housing HR Manager has been revealed as a finalist in the 2018 Wales HR Awards, which recognises and celebrates the achievements of HR professionals across Wales.

Launched in 2017, the Awards ceremony is the flagship event of the Wales HR Network, a leading professional thought sharing and networking group created and run by Cardiff-based commercial law firm Darwin Gray and Acorn, Wales’ leading recruitment specialist.

Vicky has been shortlisted in the Best HR Professional – Public/Third Sector category for her role as HR, OD & Communications Manager at Family Housing Association and is one of 6 finalists competing for the accolade.

Hosted by the BBC’s Sian Lloyd, the Awards recognise the best HR professionals at all levels, from apprentices to directors, and organisations as a whole across various industry sectors in Wales – showcasing the commitment, hard work and achievements of individuals and teams within the HR profession over the last 12 months.

Darwin Gray’s Head of Employment Law and HR Fflur Jones said:

“Despite being at the core of every successful company, HR is often an under-acknowledged profession.

“The Wales HR Awards has generated a really positive response across the private and public sector in Wales; it seems to have struck a chord and I look forward to meeting our finalists on the night.”

Director of Operations for South Wales at Acorn Recruitment Maria Larcombe added:

“We have been overwhelmed by the response and support for this year’s Wales HR Awards.  The number of entries received exceeded all our expectations, and the calibre of our nominees is truly outstanding.

“The standard of entries has been incredibly strong and our shortlisted nominees should feel extremely proud to have reached this point.”

Winners will be announced at the black-tie award ceremony on Friday 23 March at the Exchange Hotel in Cardiff.
