Celebrating 50 Years of Caredig: A Chance to Reflect and Say Thankyou
We were delighted to come together this week with partners, staff and tenants to celebrate Caredig’s 50th anniversary. It was a marvellous opportunity to reflect and say thank you to our wonderful staff and partners who have played such an important role in making us what we are today. Since our establishment in 1975, Caredig has gone from strength to strength, now managing nearly 3,000 homes across five authorities, growing into an ambitious, well-established, and independent housing association with strong local roots and a reputation for excellence.
Chief Executive, Marcia Sinfield said “It was our pleasure to welcome to the event our partners from Welsh Government, Councils, funders and developers who work together with us to make this all possible. The Leader of Swansea Council, Cllr Robert Stewart, cut our celebratory cake and we were delighted to welcome the Deputy Leader, Cllr Andrea Lewis too.”
Attendees shared:
Councillor Rob Stewart, Leader of Swansea Council:
“Many thanks for the invitation. It was a great event and wonderful to hear and see what has been achieved over the last 50 years. I was very grateful for the opportunity to attend. I look forward to catching up again shortly. “

“It was a fabulous event, and it was great to see so many people I’ve not seen for a long time.
I was so glad to attend, and it’s great working with Caredig and hope we can do much more together.”
Anthony Thomas, ASW Managing Director
“It was wonderful to join you all at Hazel Court last week to celebrate your 50th anniversary. I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and seeing many of the older faces back in the Family Housing days, it’s hard to believe that we have worked with the organisation for 36 years this year.
We look forward to continuing our support to Caredig, its residents and its communities in the future.”
Matthew Giffard, Secured Alarm Systems Ltd Managing Director
“Thank you for the invite to Caredig’s 50th anniversary at Hazel Court. We had a wonderful afternoon, and it was nice to meet and catch up with colleagues and all other attendees.”
Jill Goddard, Affordable Housing Delivery Manager, Swansea Council

It was wonderful to see the passion and dedication that Caredig brings to creating great places to live and work. At Swansea Council, we value our relationship with Caredig. It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with the team, and I’m personally proud to support the important work you do.
Looking forward to continuing our work together in the future.”
