Caredig Neighbour of the Year Awards 2024

This is the second year of presenting Neighbour of the Year awards to Caredig tenants, highlighting how their kindness is being spread across communities.

Our Community Housing Officers Emma Williams and Carol Johns, along with our CEO Marcia Sinfield had the wonderful task of delivering the awards and were delighted to share the great news to the winners.

Our winners were awarded for:
"Wendy regularly goes out of her way to encourage all the tenants to attend groups and activities, she also tries to set up social groups for everyone to get involved in."

"Ken has welcomed us from the day we moved in. He’s always got time for a chat and makes me laugh which I don't do very often. He's just a really kind thoughtful human and you don't find many of those. We wanted to nominate him just to let him know he's appreciated."

"Paula is a very kind and thoughtful neighbour who always goes out of her way to show generosity and kindness to all she meets. She donates a huge Christmas hamper to another scheme every year and lucky dip presents to staff every Christmas time as a thank you."

"Jo has been nominated for her kindness. For years Jo has taken the residents on holiday, she is always arranging day trips and other events for residents. Jo also takes the residents out for lunch every week, and is really appreciate it so much."

This year we decided to create an extra special award for “Kindness in your Community”, which was presented to Robyn of Ysgol Lon Las school.

Robin, truly shone and captured the hearts of many with her exceptional empathy, kindness and bond that she formed particularly with 96-year-old Joan.
