Screening for Life

Family Housing is supporting ‘Screening for Life‘.

Screening is a process of identifying apparently healthy people who may be at increased risk of a disease or condition. They can then be offered information, further tests and appropriate treatment to reduce their risk and/or any complications arising from the disease or condition. Screening programmes allow for the early detection and treatment of potential health problems and include abdominal aortic aneurysm, breast test, cervical screening and bowel screening.

Getting tested can be a worry but for this campaign real people have been asked to take part in short videos explaining the screening process and how simple it can be.

Carol Johns our Tenant & Community Engagement Officer has explained the breast screening process, how easy it was and how it has made an impact on her life.
