People and Customer Experience Committee (PACE) Updates

Caredig’s People and Customer Experience Committee (PACE) is responsible for overseeing matters related to people and customers, including organisational development, customer strategy, and engagement, with a focus on equality, diversity, and inclusion. It ensures effective succession planning for Board Members and Employees, including remuneration, and recommends relevant policies to the Board for approval. The Committee is accountable to the Board, must report any serious concerns, and provides an annual report on its work and decisions to each Board Member.
The meetings include our Board and leadership, with invites being extended to staff and tenants.

This meeting was held at our scheme Cartref Cynnes in Carmarthen, and we were delighted to welcome:
• Tenants Jo Ashford and Sandie Taylor from Caredig Reviewers
• Staff members Lauren Middleton and Phil Burge from our Money Solutions team
• Staff members Carol Johns and Shelene Williams from our Dechrau Project.

Discussions included staff members Lauren and Phil describing how Cwtch Mawr, a partnership with Amazon, has provided tenants with much-needed supplies. Shelene and Carol also presented an update on the valuable work of Dechrau, including an inspirational video update from people who have benefitted from their work.

The Committee were delighted to hear of the great progress made by the Housing Services team and our positive response to feedback from tenants in the recent STAR survey as part of Strategic Objective One- People Can Easily Access Reliable Services When They Need Them. Hearing about the great Café Culture sessions and how we are developing our use of data was also really encouraging as we work to ensure All Staff Feel Caredig is a Great Place to Work (Strategic Objective Two).

They also enjoyed lively discussions about our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion work and how we are improving our approach to complaints. Last but not least, they heard great feedback about Caredig’s care and support services from Board member Karen Tipple’s recent visits.

We look forward to sharing updates from our next meeting with you, which is planned for October 2024.
