Optimised Retrofit Programme

Sustainability, and reducing our carbon footprint, is a key priority for society and, of course, Caredig. We were delighted to receive grant funding of over a million pounds this year from Welsh Government to support our journey to decarbonise existing homes, often known as retrofitting. Through a Welsh Government backed project, ‘Simply Do’, Caredig put together an outline brief and went out to market for expressions of interest in this year’s Optimised Retrofit Programme (decarbonisation project).

The scope of the project is for the installation of photovoltaic panels with battery storage individual smart meters to tenants’ homes and intelligent energy systems starting with a couple of our extra care schemes.

We are pleased to share that we have now been through the procurement process and have appointed LCB Construction to undertake this work.
