Caredig Strengthens their Leadership with the Appointment of Four New Board Members
Caredig, a community-based housing association in Swansea, has reinforced its leadership with the appointment of four new members to its longstanding Board. These appointments will enhance the Board’s existing skill set and knowledge base, enabling the organisation to continue meeting its strategic objectives and supporting its mission.
The newly appointed Board members bring a wealth of experience and expertise to Caredig:
- Daniel Lewis brings over 15 years of experience in the social housing sector. As a seasoned Housing Association Company Secretary, Daniel specializes in risk management, corporate governance, audit services, and compliance. His passion for embedding the customer voice in boardroom discussions will be a vital asset in Caredig's ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and enhance community engagement.
- Liz Downe is a Human Resources Specialist with more than 20 years of experience and a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD. Liz is passionate about the power of people, believing that “employees are the organisation's greatest asset.” Her commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture aligns with Caredig's focus on staff development and well-being.
- Louise Attwood, a Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years in the field, brings her experience in managing residential and commercial properties. Louise is deeply committed to delivering community benefits and environmental improvements, with a focus on encouraging more people to pursue careers in property and construction.
- Marc Leppard offers over 30 years of expertise in governance, compliance, and risk management. Currently working as a compliance senior advisor with a UN agency, Marc also holds leadership roles in audit and risk at other Welsh housing associations and educational institutions. His experience will further enhance Caredig's governance framework.
These new additions bring the Board’s membership to thirteen—a fortuitous number for Caredig as it continues to evolve and meet future challenges. Together, the Board will continue its work ensuring that Caredig remains well-positioned to address the complex issues facing the housing sector.
"We are thrilled to welcome Daniel, Liz, Louise, and Marc to our Board," said Marcia Sinfield, Chief Executive of Caredig. "Their extensive experience and passion for the sector will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success of our organisation as we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead."
The Board regularly comes together for strategy days, where members collaborate on shaping the future direction of Caredig and its services. With this enhanced leadership team, Caredig is better equipped to deliver on its commitment to providing quality homes and fostering strong communities.
