What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding others means the protection of children, young people and adults at risk, supporting them to live free from abuse, harm and neglect.

Everyone in our workplace is responsible for safeguarding others, this includes safeguarding staff as well as residents. They are often adults or children who are unable to protect themselves from abuse, harm and neglect. They need others to step in and do the right thing for them.

I have a concern, what do I do?

If you have a concern for an adult or child who you believe may be at risk of abuse, harm or neglect you can call Caredig on 01792 460192 or email concern@caredig.co.uk. Our Safeguarding team will then work with that person or family and all other partner services, such as social care, mental health teams, Medical Professionals or the police to make sure they are protected and cared for.

If you are or believe someone else is at immediate significant risk you must call 999 and report it. Our team only work Monday to Friday during office hours and will not be able to respond outside of these hours.

If you are an adult or child who is suffering from abuse, harm or neglect and don’t know where to find help, there are some phone numbers and websites below that may help you. You can also call Caredig and our team will try to help you or put you in touch with others who can help.
